Mosaic hosted a table at the FSC January event which gave some good insights into what the regulator is expecting from the industry and how they intend to engage.

Of particular note:

• Conduct is a culture not a tickbox compliance exercise
• Conduct outcomes need to be driven by a comprehensive programme across all facets of the business and these need to be tested over time
• Investment in systems and process to drive good outcomes will be in the spotlight – “operational issues” are governance issues
• While NZ probably leads on climate disclosure we probably lag on conduct
