A particularly busy week in Sydney last week with two conferences, multiple pitches and some great meetings with our Australian Partners.

Thursday’s FSC Retirement Summit was particularly interesting, opening with Michael Fellers session on retirement in an uncertain world which reiterated the relative pace of change in 40 year chunks – what we are seeing is not unprecedented but might feel like it.

The looming interregnum is likely going to be challenging.

More broadly some Key themes – not new but worth thinking about how they are changing:

  • Decumulation needs better products and management – lots of Australians are not using their retirement income, good for the kids but...
  • Stay in the right growth assets because you are going to likely be around for longer than you think. Take some advice on this...
  • Advice channels are changing, whatever you think about influencers they are a thing and reach a growing audience, where do they fit in your eco-system? What can old and new channels learn from each other and how they fit in a new ecosystem.
