TRAINING COURSE

GHG emissions calculations: taming GHG emissions in the value chain

Scope 1 (own emissions) and scope 2 (purchased electricity and steam) are widespread now, and organisations in New Zealand who have to disclose climate-related information as per the FMCA (Financial Markets Conduct Act) as well as their larger customers and suppliers are in large part taking steps to capture relevant information.

However, scope 3 (the value chain GHG emissions) can be perceived as more intimidating to manage; but it does not need to be the case.

Through this course, we will aim to recall key foundational concepts on GHG emissions, as well as a practical approach for the categories of emission sources in the value chain, supported by practical examples from organisations in your sector (domestically and abroad as needed) and the documentation and systems essential for a seamless integration within your entity.

Completion of this short course will support participants acquire knowledge needed to define their full GHG emission inventory.
